World No.2 Roger Federer confirmed his participation in the ATP Madrid Masters Series after a three week self imposed exile since he won his fifth consecutive US Open title.He will face Radek Stepanek in the second round after a first round bye, who defeated Juan Monaco 6-1,6-1 in the first round.Federer who is a former Champion at Madrid(2006) & runner in 2007 (lost to Nalbandian) will be chasing for his 4th title this season & is definitely one of the favourites to win the title.
